In year 2, you will take an explorative approach to design and development through innovative materials, details and techniques, whilst working to industry briefs with an emphasis on products at a defined market level. You will evaluate how emerging technologies impact sustainable fashion practices, and further develop your critical skills and research interests in line with your personal practice. A placement year is an incredibly valuable element of your course as it allows you to apply your university-based knowledge, skills and understanding to your job role. During your placement, you will make your own industry contacts and enhance your CV by gaining real-world industry experience. Your Student Experience Fashion students are usually based in a university’s dedicated fashion studios, designed to mirror the collaborative working environment in the fashion industry. As well as design studios, there will be a range of facilities for you to use, such as computer suites, sewing an
